Helping clients manage and execute their vision brings our principals satisfaction. Focusing on client experience helps us build great relationships.
Juxta Architects brings together principals with a combined four decades of experience, who are passionate about design, heritage architecture, and building science. By bringing these skill sets together in one practice, clients can expect a deep understanding of the art and science of built spaces and the personalized experience only a boutique firm can offer.
Whether renovating, adding space or building new projects, Juxta turns client visions into realities. Our practice centres on four core service areas: architectural design, building science, investigations and studies, and heritage conservation.
Principals Bruno and Stefan have worked on a wide range of residential and institutional projects locally in Ottawa-Gatineau, elsewhere in Canada and internationally. They take pride in offering a seamless experience for clients, from early concept to construction completion.
Stefan has a decade of hands-on industry experience, with a special focus on heritage conservation projects. His architectural practice is informed by other professional experiences as an artist, a chef, and a contractor, as well as being a father. A graduate of Dalhousie University’s school of architecture, he worked with well-regarded firms in the Halifax and National Capital regions prior to co-founding Juxta.
Stefan has experience working on notable heritage and non-heritage built projects both locally and abroad. A member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), Stefan offers clients a full slate of architectural services and is licensed for practice in Ontario and Quebec.
Bruno has almost three decades of experience as a designer and building science expert. Prior to co-founding Juxta he worked with building science and architecture firms in Montreal and Ottawa, developing his expertise in building science consulting. Bruno’s specialities include design and assessment of building envelopes, windows, curtain-wall systems and roofs.
Bruno has supervised building science projects for government, commercial and residential clients. An experienced project manager, he has delivered hundreds of projects for institutional and private clients.
Greg Juneau, Intern Architect
Since graduating from Carleton University in 2021, Greg continues to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of design, construction, and architectural history. Greg is passionate about sustainability and engineering, both of which inform his design process and approach to the built environment.
Greg participates in all stages of projects, from the preliminary concept to final construction. Whatever the project may be, Greg is always eager to meet the challenges of creating innovative spaces, and how the new and old can be stitched together successfully.
Amanda Parkinson, Intern Architect
Amanda has worked in many different firms across Canada, in a range of sectors from commercial and residential through to educational and institutional. She has nearly 5 years of practical experience in architecture that is complemented with 3 years of hands-on experience in construction that has shaped her understanding of how projects come together and given her an affection for the smaller details.
Amanda has a keen interest in heritage conservation and enjoys exploring how the past and present intersect and shape the built environment. Her master’s thesis, completed at the University of Waterloo, focused on researching how a building’s history, value, and use influence its future outcome. She has a focused curiosity and enjoys the process of continuous learning that the profession provides.
